ABOUT THE ARTIST

Edrick Alcontado is a dynamic creative professional with experience across multiple artistic disciplines. He has honed his skills as an actor in theater and film, a singer and composer, and a visual artist. In addition, Edrick has a strong background in writing and collaborating on media productions and has successfully hosted a variety of events, voice-over projects and radio programs.
With a deep belief in the transformative power of art and storytelling, he is eager to engage in collaborative projects that inspire and connect.
He was an Actors Company Scholar of Tanghalang Pilipino, where he underwent rigorous training with the resident theater company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. His time as a scholar allowed him to focus on his craft and develop as a performing artist across the company’s 36th and 37th theater seasons. Edrick performed in acclaimed productions, including Anak Datu, Ang Pag-Uusig, Nekropolis, Sandosenang Sapatos Tour in Antipolo, Pingkian: Isang Musikal, and Ibon ng Lawa. He was nominated for Best Performer in a Play for Ibon ng Lawa at the 2024 BroadwayWorld Philippines Awards.
Aside from his on stage work, Edrick has been privileged to explore storytelling through film. His on screen credits include a role in Phantosmia, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker, Lav Diaz. Which debuted at the prestigious 81st Venice Film Festival. Edrick also took part in the financial literacy web series Dami Mong Alam. Additionally, he portrayed various characters in Tara Peeps Season 2, the first multimedia children’s show on DZRH.
Beyond acting, Edrick has a profound passion for music as a singer-songwriter. His portfolio includes a range of original works, featuring theme songs for broadcasts, films, and festivals. He has composed jingles for various radio programs and advocacy campaigns.
Edrick holds a degree in Communication from De La Salle University - Dasmariñas. During his time at the university, he was actively involved with DWSU 95.9 Green FM, where he served as a Radio DJ and later as Broadcast Senior Manager for the station's Public Affairs programs.
With a genuine passion for storytelling, Edrick Alcontado has been part of impactful projects aimed at younger audiences. His contributions as a writer to Tara Peeps, DZRH’s children’s show, centered on building a sense of community through narratives that celebrate unity and kindness. Similarly, his work on Lakbay Isip, a series dedicated to teenage mental health, reflects his dedication to creating thoughtful content that encourages open dialogue.
Edrick’s work is driven by a quiet hope that stories will resonate and support those who need them most. For he believes that art speaks something fundamental in all of us. It challenges, uplifts, and opens us to new perspectives. Every project he undertake is a hope toward meaningful connection—a chance to create work that not only captivates but leaves a lasting impact.
