THROUGH THE SAPIENS' EYES

Edrick Alcontado's visual art explores the human experience through a spiritual and symbolic lens. At the heart of his style are figures he calls Sapiens—derived from the Latin word meaning “wise” or “discerning.” These characters represent spirits temporarily inhabiting the mortal world , each one reflecting a facet of what it means to live, feel, and evolve in this world. His work is his quiet meditation on presence, dreams, memory, and the sacred nature of being alive that is rooted in the belief that beneath it all, we are souls remembering who we are.

Edrick offers a quiet reverence for the unseen. His practice is not just about creating images, but about holding space for vulnerability, wonder, and the quiet wisdom of simply being. Through his Sapiens, he honors what connects us: the shared truth that we are all spirits finding our way through the world of the humans. Within this space, you’ll find the collection of Edrick’s artworks. Each piece invites you to pause, to feel, and to see the world through your Sapiens eyes. May these works speak to something familiar within you, and remind you of your own quiet journey through the human experience
